Hi, my name is Kayla Coonen.
I am a Wisconsin native from Kaukauna, WI. I received my bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Environmental Geography. I enjoyed my field of study so much and my research experience that I decided to continue my education. I recently graduated with my master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences in Geography, Geology, and Planning at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. In Missouri, I worked in the Ozark Mountains playing in streams (monitoring water quality) and surveying or hiking much of the National Forest.
After two years of playing in the Ozarks, I finally moved back to Wisconsin to work at my new position as an Operational Technology Specialist at Kaukauna Utilities. This position includes maintaining and developing the utility’s GIS, AutoCAD, and AUD systems for the Water and Electric Departments. In my free time, I spend most of time outdoors hiking, biking, or camping. Because I enjoy what I do and what I have studied, I am always willing to offer “fun facts” about any of the landscapes I am around, so I can continue to be a nerd.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or further interests into my portfolio/skills at [email protected] or visit my LinkedIn page.
